Thief King Bakura (or Akefia, if you use the fan name like I do) has one of the saddest back stories of any anime character I've seen... but that's mainly because the producers never gave him the proper storyline to explain things like how he reacted to his village's slaugher (other than him looking horrified from behind the wall during that one scene). I can totally imagine that after such a tragedy that he would look just like this - shocked beyond words and not even sure if he can go on with his life.
Your technique is fantastic and your anatomy is admirable. I can't draw very well myself, but so many of my friends do. I enjoy finding new talented artists on DeviantArt because I appreciate it when I find someone who really has a love for their art and you, my friend, clearly have that love.
Long live Yugioh and Thief King Bakura! Both will always have a place in our hearts!
God, when I saw those flashbacks I almost cried.. I mean he was the only survivor, but he was so young when he had to watch all those villagers being murdered and I can't really blame him for becoming a thief/criminal who tried to destroy the world... Anyway, this picture really shows all the pain he's been through and sure has a huge impact on whoever sees it. Another masterpiece, congrats!
In the end, looking back, even TK Bakura was kinda contorted to what he became. At some points, it even sounded like he was possessed by Zorc himself... :\ (or maybe I mixed something up during all that) ...I blame Zorc. Who could very well be Chernabog from Fantasia as some 34 hentai.
By what I know his hatred for the pharaoh was enough for Zorc to sort of take over him. It's just sad that his character had to go through hell as a child, become someones puppet, then die for nothing.
Yeah Marik had a terrible childhood as well but he still has his brother and sister. He's lucky there. It's unfortunate for Bakura's character he pretty much had no one. I suppose his character is somewhat of a loner, but still, having to watch all your loved ones die at such a young age.
